Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
- Greet guests promptly and warmly with a polished, professional demeanor
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements to ensure smooth service flow
- Escort guests to tables and present menus with attention to detail
- Anticipate guest needs and respond to requests with courtesy and efficiency
Front-of-House Coordination
- Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and the kitchen to balance seating and pacing
- Monitor dining room activity and adjust seating plans as needed
- Assist with special occasions, VIP guests, and guest preferences
Professional Standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and elegant host stand and entrance area
- Uphold the restaurant’s dress code, grooming standards, and brand image
- Answer phones, manage inquiries, and handle guest concerns with discretion
Administrative Duties
- Accurately manage reservation systems and guest notes
- Record guest feedback and relay important information to management
- Support opening and closing duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous hostess or front-of-house experience preferred, especially in upscale or fine dining settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, confident demeanor in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain professional under pressure
