Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including cash flow and budget performance reports.
  • Perform reconciliations for bank statements, ledgers, and invoices.
  • Support compliance with applicable standards (i.e., IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Process and document payments on bank platforms.
  • Maintain records for asset registers, invoices, and operational expenses.
  • Assist with monthly management account preparation and financial reporting.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to the Accountant and management.
  • Collaborate with external auditors by organizing and supplying required documentation.
  • Ensure timely remittances and filings of taxes and statutory deductions.
  • Process invoices promptly and accurately, facilitating seamless financial transactions with partners and vendors.
  • Record and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring that financial obligations are met and funds are received promptly.
  • Manage payroll and employee expense claims.

Qualifications, Skill Sets, and Values

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • 2–3 years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Understanding of tax filings and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organisational, numeracy, and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
  • Languages: Fluency in languages: English.
