Our client, a leading transport company with a strong focus on operational excellence and profitability, is seeking a Senior Accountant of Igbo descent to partner directly with the Female Group Head of Finance. This is a high-impact, leadership role for an experienced professional capable of managing a team of accountants and driving the company’s financial performance with precision, discipline, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and oversee a high-performing team of accountants, ensuring strict adherence to financial policies and corporate governance.
- Drive day-to-day profitability by analyzing performance metrics and implementing actionable financial strategies.
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations.
- Enforce rigorous financial controls and compliance standards across all company operations.
- Collaborate with the Group Head of Finance to shape financial strategy and business-critical decisions.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate:
- Male, of Igbo descent.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial accounting role, with demonstrable leadership experience.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Highly accountable, firm, and capable of driving a culture of discipline and excellence.
- Proficient in accounting systems, QuickBooks, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ICAN, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
