Job Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and processes that align with the company’s objectives and drive growth.
- Set clear sales targets and KPIs, and ensure the sales analyst and associate have a clear direction to achieve them.
- Forecast sales performance based on market trends, previous sales data, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify new business opportunities and potential markets to expand the company’s reach.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales associates to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to sales representatives to improve skills and ensure they meet performance expectations.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with the sales team, providing feedback, goal-setting, and development plans.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and results.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive problem-solving, addressing concerns, and providing excellent service.
- Assist in negotiating and closing high-value sales or complex deals, ensuring favorable terms for the company.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to ensure smooth post-sale experiences and customer retention.
Sales Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor the performance of the sales team through regular reporting, analyzing sales activities, and tracking performance against goals.
- Identify areas of underperformance and develop corrective action plans to drive improvements.
- Use CRM tools to track sales activities, opportunities, and client interactions.
- Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Analyze customer feedback and competitor strategies to inform sales strategies and stay ahead of market demands.
- Adjust sales tactics as necessary based on market conditions and evolving business needs.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work closely with marketing to align sales campaigns, promotional activities, and lead-generation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, credit, engineering, etc.) to ensure product offerings are aligned with customer needs and feedback.
- Provide insights from customers to help shape product development and enhancements.
Sales Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on sales metrics including team performance, revenue growth, and forecasting.
- Present sales data and performance updates to senior management and suggest strategies for improvements or growth.
- Maintain a detailed sales pipeline and ensure the accuracy of all sales-related data.
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Manage the sales team budget and ensure resources are allocated effectively to maximize ROI.
- Ensure the sales team has the tools, training, and support necessary to meet objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience, with a proven track record in sales and business development.
- 2 years experience in sales of solar or other clean-tech equipment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for driving innovation and achieving results
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Meet required financial targets/sales budgets.
