ABOUT THE ROLE
The Commercial Service Finance Analyst provides financial analysis, reporting and insights to support Commercial and Marketing decision-making. The role partners closely with key stakeholders to manage Direct Marketing Expenses, support Route-to-Market initiatives, track Managed Distribution Partner performance, and ensure projects and initiatives deliver sustainable value and profitability to the business.
REQUIREMENTS
- First degree in Finance, Economics & Accounting
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA or equivalent) - Added advantage
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant work experience in Finance, preferably within FMCG or a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Experience supporting commercial or marketing teams with financial analysis and performance reporting.
- Understanding and interpretation of how volume & mix drive profitability, including risk & opportunity analysis
- Understanding FMCG Commercial requirements, S4 HANA Tools and Processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Good planning, prioritization, and project management capability.
- Results-driven mindset with attention to detail and follow-through.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare and analyze Direct Marketing Expenses (DME), tracking performance against Budget, Revised Estimate, and Prior Year.
- Conduct consolidated DME/DMI system analysis and reviews with relevant stakeholders.
- Reconcile final DME figures with Marketing teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
Planning, Budgeting & Performance Management
- Support budget planning and monthly performance reviews for Commercial and Marketing functions.
- Update and maintain monthly BPMS (Business Performance Management System) finance files, including variance analysis and explanations.
- Prepare functional performance decks and present financial insights to stakeholders.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Commercial, Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to provide timely financial insights that support decision-making.
- Consolidate and review Managed Distribution Partner (MDP) financial performance and share insights with the Sales team.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliations with business partners in line with agreed timelines.
Project & Route-to-Market Support
- Provide financial support and analysis for Route-to-Market rollouts and commercial projects.
- Evaluate the financial viability of initiatives, highlighting risks, opportunities, and cost-saving levers.
