Role Overview
- A private family is seeking an experienced childcare and education professional who is truly passionate about childcare and development to assume the role of Governess for their 10-year-old child.
- The primary focus of the role is the academic, emotional, and social development of the child.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Governess will:
Educational Development:
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans tailored to the child’s academic needs.
- Monitor academic progress and provide homework/project support.
- Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning.
- Develop, implement, and monitor structured educational guidelines and study plans to ensure the child is adequately prepared for upcoming examinations.
Child Development and Welfare:
- Ensure the child’s safety, well-being, and daily care needs.
- Provide emotional support and age-appropriate guidance.
- Consistently model exemplary behaviour, values, and lifestyle practices to foster the child’s continuous positive development.
- Establish consistent routines, boundaries, and behavioural expectations.
Activity and Lifestyle Management:
- Plan and coordinate age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
- Promote healthy habits and balanced lifestyle choices.
- Manage the child’s daily schedule, appointments, and extracurricular activities.
- Assist with meal planning, grocery coordination, and supervision of meal routines.
- Oversee personal hygiene standards and organisation of the child’s living and study spaces.
Household and Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other household staff to maintain a harmonious and structured environment.
- Organise and participate in social, cultural, and developmental activities for the child.
Reporting and Performance Expectations
Prepare concise weekly progress reports highlighting:
- Developmental progress
- Learning patterns
- Emerging interests and behavioural observations
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all records and observations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar educational or childcare role involving children aged 9–12.
- Demonstrable experience developing structured learning or developmental programmes.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to adjust schedule during school holidays.
- Must be available for Live-in arrangements, when necessary, with accommodation provided by the employer.
- Must be willing and available to travel when required.

Working Arrangements:
- This is a full-time flexible (6 days a week, MON-SAT) role that requires availability during both school terms and holiday periods.
