Job Summary
- As a Storekeeper Officer, you are responsible for the efficient management of all store operations, including inventory control, material handling, documentation, and timely issuance/receipt of goods.
- You will ensure proper storage, accurate stock records, compliance with company policies, and supports production, maintenance, and other departments with required materials in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming materials, supplies, and equipment against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Maintain accurate stock records, including receipts, issues, returns, damages, and transfers.
- Organize and arrange materials systematically to ensure easy access, safety, and minimal wastage.
- Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Ensure all store activities comply with company policies, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Issue materials and equipment only against authorized requisitions and maintain proper documentation.
- Conduct periodic stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations with finance and audit departments.
- Keep records of stock movement and generate daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Coordinate with procurement, production, maintenance, and logistics departments for smooth material flow.
- Tag and label all items appropriately with identification codes, batch numbers, or expiry dates.
- Supervise loading, unloading, and proper handling of goods to avoid damages.
- Maintain cleanliness, security, and orderliness of the store area.
- Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock and escalate to line manager for disposal or action.
- Ensure all store transactions are captured accurately on Inventory Management System.
- Assist in developing and implementing improved inventory control procedures.
- Support internal and external audits with all required documentation and reports.
Requirements
- Minimum of HND / B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years’ proven experience as a Storekeeper, Store Officer, Inventory Officer, or in a similar warehouse/store management role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control procedures, stock documentation, and material handling processes.
- proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Good understanding of HSE standards, safe storage practices, and proper material handling.
- Experience conducting stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations with finance or audit teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain orderly, secure, and well-labeled store facilities.
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping discipline.
- Good communication and reporting skills, both written and verbal.
- Physically fit and able to supervise loading, unloading, and movement of materials where required.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and compliance with company policies and procedures
