Job Description
Site Surveying and Setting Out:

  • Conduct land, topographical, boundary, and control surveys for construction projects.
  • Set out and mark positions for buildings, roads, utilities, and other structures in accordance with approved drawings.
  • Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference lines.

Measurement and Data Collection:

  • Measure distances, angles, elevations, and contours using total stations, GPS, levels, and other surveying equipment.
  • Collect, record, and analyze survey data accurately for design and construction purposes.

Verification and Compliance:

  • Verify site layouts, alignments, levels, and dimensions to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor construction progress to confirm work is executed within approved tolerances.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or deviations to the Project Engineer or Site Manager.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit survey reports, drawings, maps, and as-built documentation.
  • Maintain accurate survey records for future reference and audits.
  • Provide measurement data for interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Liaise with project engineers, architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
  • Support planning and execution of works by providing timely survey information.
  • Coordinate with government survey offices and regulatory authorities when required.

Boundary and Legal Surveys:

  • Confirm land boundaries, right-of-way limits, and site extents in line with legal documents and survey plans.
  • Assist in resolving boundary disputes or encroachments on site.

Equipment Management:

  • Ensure proper handling, calibration, and maintenance of surveying instruments.
  • Safeguard survey equipment against loss or damage.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Comply with site HSE policies during all surveying activities.
  • Conduct surveys in a manner that minimizes risk to personnel and property.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical advice on surveying matters to site teams and management.
  • Support design modifications by supplying updated survey data when required.
