Summary of Position
The People and Culture Intern should be able to gain wide exposure to recruiting, employee relations, benefits, administration, training and meeting coordination, and audits as they occur day to day in the department
S/he will work under the direct supervision of People and Culture Manager and closely with the Finance, Admin and Logistics Team
Major duties and responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Onboarding
- Support the People and Culture Team in welcoming new hires
- Assist in the filing of onboarding paperwork
Recruitment
- Scanning and uploading all documents on the HRIS and designated drives
- Coordinating with supervisors to verify reference checks for potential candidates
Training
- Support the P and Team in planning logistics for Trainings
Staff exit Process
- Ensure that all DEP are printed and arranged accordingly the employees files Staff exit Process
- Assist in filing employee exit paperwork in the correct files and are kept in the dedicated cabinet
HR Support
- Support People and Culture Team by updating the staff contract roster as directed by supervisor
Documentation
- Support P&C team to keep employee files updated with all employment related documents;both hard and soft copies are scanned and arranged accordingly
- Support audit requests as assigned by supervisor
- Any other duty assigned
Experience/Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree is required; University degree in international development, social science, economics or related field is desired
- Keen interest in HR or management
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills
- Attention to details and ability to follow up on task to completion is required
- Experience of working in conflict environment is a plus
- Ability to connect messages and content into stories easily understood by a broad audience
- Written and spoken fluency is required
- Fluency in one or more of the local state languages in the northeastern part of Nigeria

- Efficient maintenance of store tracker

Duration of Internship
- The internship shall be for the duration of the service or 6 months with possible extension upon review of performance.
Intern Allowance
The intern will be eligible for a daily stipend of NGN 9,000 for each working day. Payment will be made at the end of the month for the days worked. SEARCH is not liable for any payments, insurance, or other liability beyond this allowance.
Location of Assignment
The location for the position is Abuja, Nigeria.,
Reporting Requirements
The Support Intern shall be supervised by the People & Culture Manager
